Year 6 Gallery Rebels topic - art in the playground!

Year 6 have spent this half term working on their 'Gallery Rebels' topic, which has looked at all of the different types of art media and styles. As part of this, they were tasked with creating an anonymous art 'installation' in the playground, which consisted of wrapping the trees in wool and ribbon! It took a lot of concentration and time but we think the effect is pretty amazing - so good in fact that children are volunteering to continue the project on the boat during lunchtimes!

In addition, the whole of Year 6 performed a 'flash mob' dance earlier in the half term when they were learning about types of street art. All of the children on the playground stopped to watch when the performance started at 1pm and some even joined in!

Well done Year 6 for trying out lots of interesting things in this topic.

Netball match v Stanley Park

A team won 1-0
This was a very close game of netball against a very good team - probably the best we have
played against so far! All of the girls worked hard throughout the game and had to defend a lot -
well done to Eve and Frankie for stopping them shooting easily! There was lots of good passes and
communication as a team and with only 10 seconds to go, Izzy scored!
Player of the match is Claudee for her non-stop running.

B team lost 3-0
This was a tough match for the B team but they played well throughout. They had some close
chances to score and defended really well to avoid Stanley Park scoring any more goals. This was
another brilliant B team game which was really high quality - the girls passed and
communicated well throughout and are now really thinking about the space which they can use
on the court.
Well done to player of the match Livvy C who worked her socks off, especially in defence!
